Types of Window Replacement We Handle

Whether you need a single failed unit or a full-home replacement, we handle it correctly from opening inspection to finished trim.

Insert (Pocket) Replacement

New window unit drops into the existing frame without removing exterior casing. Fastest and least disruptive option — the right call when existing frames are solid and square.

Full-Frame Replacement

Everything comes out down to the rough opening. Best choice when frames are rotted, windows are being resized, or you want to update exterior trim style at the same time.

Double-Hung Windows

The most common residential style. Both sashes operate for cleaning and ventilation. Easy to maintain, works with virtually any architectural style, and available in dozens of frame colors.

Casement & Awning Windows

Crank-operated windows that swing outward for maximum ventilation. Casement is side-hinged; awning is top-hinged and can stay open in light rain. Excellent air seal when closed.

Slider & Picture Windows

Slider windows open horizontally and work well for wide openings. Picture windows are fixed-glass and provide unobstructed views — often combined with operable units.

Bay, Bow & Specialty

Bay windows project outward from the wall; bow windows create a curved projection. We also install specialty shapes for architectural accents, stairwells, and gable ends.

The Opening Matters as Much as the Window

A new window is only as good as the installation around it. We use self-adhering flashing membrane on every opening, bed frames in sealant, and finish exterior trim watertight. Before any new window goes in, we inspect the rough opening for rot, moisture damage, and out-of-square framing that would cause future problems.

We complete interior finishing — casing, stools, and aprons — on the same visit when possible, so you’re not left with a half-done opening.

Floors, furniture, and walls protected before we startDrop cloths, wall protection around each opening, and vacuumed cleanup after every window. You shouldn’t need to redo your interior after a window install.
Written performance expectations before installDrafts, condensation, outside noise — we tell you what to expect from your new windows in real-world terms, so you know if something’s off in the first season.
One-year callback built inWe follow up at the one-year mark to confirm everything is still sealing, sliding, and locking as it should. Adjustments in that window are on us.

Window Replacement FAQ

What homeowners ask before replacing their windows.

We determine this during the estimate. If existing frames are structurally sound, plumb, and free of rot, insert replacement is typically the right call. If frames are rotted, windows are being resized, or you want to update exterior trim, full-frame is the better option. We won’t recommend the more expensive route unless it’s actually needed.

At minimum, choose double-pane with low-E coating for NJ climate. Low-E glass significantly reduces heat transfer in both summer and winter. Argon gas fill adds additional insulating value. Triple-pane is worth considering for rooms facing north or for homeowners in particularly cold zones. We’ll explain the performance difference and price premium for each option.

Fogging between panes means the insulating seal has failed — moisture has gotten into the space between the glass. Once the seal fails, the insulating gas is gone and the window is performing as a single pane thermally. The unit needs to be replaced; there’s no repairing a failed seal.

Quality vinyl replacement windows typically last 20–40 years. Fiberglass frames last longer — 50+ years — but cost more. The insulating glass unit (sealed glass pack) has an expected lifespan of 15–20 years before seal failure becomes common. Proper installation is the biggest factor in longevity — poorly installed windows fail faster regardless of brand.
