Lap Siding

Panel Siding
Large-format vertical panels for board-and-batten and contemporary looks. Fast installation, fewer seams, and the same engineered wood durability as LP lap siding.
Shake Siding
Hand-split cedar shake appearance without the maintenance. LP SmartSide shake panels install faster than real cedar and won’t split, crack, or absorb moisture the same way.
Trim Boards
LP SmartSide trim for corners, windows, doors, and band boards. Matches the engineered wood system for a cohesive exterior that holds up at every point of potential moisture entry.
Soffit

Profile & Color Selection
We walk you through LP SmartSide profiles and pre-finished color options so you can see exactly what you’re getting before we order materials.
Tear-Off & Substrate Prep
Existing siding comes off. We inspect sheathing for rot or damage, make any repairs, and install housewrap before the first LP panel goes up.
Installation & Finishing
Panels installed per LP specs. All penetrations flashed. Any field painting done in quality exterior paint. Warranty documentation left with you at completion.

Both are excellent materials built for longevity. Hardie is heavier, non-combustible, and slightly more impact resistant. LP SmartSide is lighter, easier to install and repair, and has a more authentic wood grain texture. Hardie has a 30-year product warranty vs. LP’s 50-year warranty. The right choice depends on your priorities — we’ll walk you through both during the estimate.
LP SmartSide comes factory-primed and needs to be painted or finished within 180 days of installation. Pre-finished options eliminate on-site painting. Field-painted LP requires quality exterior paint and periodic repainting (typically every 8–15 years depending on sun exposure and paint quality). We’ll discuss which option makes sense for your situation.
